National Sports Day Celebration at KV NERIST
Kendriya Vidyalaya NERIST celebrated National Sports Day 2025 on 29 August to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player of India.
The programme commenced with the Fit India Pledge, reaffirming the commitment of students and staff towards a healthy and active lifestyle. This was followed by floral tributes to Major Dhyan Chand by the Principal (I/c), teachers, staff members, the School Captain, and the Sports Captain. The School Captain highlighted the life and achievements of the hockey icon, while the Sports Teacher addressed the gathering with a brief and inspiring speech.
Students were divided into two teams—K. D. Jadhav and Karnam Malleswari—and actively participated in a variety of fun games and sports activities. The celebration reached a high point with enthusiastic staff vs Students’ Council matches, which filled the campus with excitement and sporting spirit.
The event successfully promoted the values of fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
